Integrate Mida with GA4 (Google Analytics 4)

Created by LiRou C, Modified on Sat, 27 Apr at 11:25 PM by LiRou C

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) represents the latest version of Google's web analytics service, where events take center stage in data presentation.

By integrating your Mida account with GA4, you will be able to transfer event data from Mida to GA4 smoothly. This means you can analyze user engagement and website performance in-depth and generate more comprehensive reports within GA4.

Mida sends event data to GA4 with the event name "mida_conversion" and includes the following properties:
  • name: Your experiment profile name
  • variant: Indicates the variation name (Control / Variant 1 / Variant 2, etc.)
  • id: Your test ID (e.g., 4898)

Activate GA4 Integration in Mida

Note: Integrating your Mida project with GA4 is a one-time setup at the project level.

Project Level Activation

1. Make sure you're in the right project before enabling GA4.

2. Ensure BOTH Mida tracking script and GA4 code are added on your campaign or experiment page.

3. Go to Integration in Mida, select Google Analytics 4, and enable the connection. That's it! You have enabled GA4 integration at the project level!

Note: Mida automatically detects the Google tag on your website and starts pushing data. If you have a complex GA4 setup or encounter any issues with the integration, you can manually specify the mode of Google tag installation. Read more about the mode of Google tag installation here.

Experiment Level Activation

Note: GA4 integration at the experiment level isn't a one-time setup. You need to enable it for each individual experiment campaign if you wish to send the campaign data to GA4.

Always ensure your Google Analytics 4 integration is activated in the CONFIGURATION settings whenever setting up an experiment.

  • id: Your test ID (e.g., 4898)
