This article explains why you might only see a single version of your experiment, even though traffic is being split between multiple variants.
The Problem
You may notice that you only ever see the variant or only the control when visiting your website during an active test. This can make it feel like the traffic allocation isn’t working, or that one version is being shown to everyone.
Why This Happens
When you visit a page in an experiment, Mida assigns you to a specific variant to ensure a consistent experience. Once you’re assigned, Mida will try to show you that same version every time you return—even if you clear your cookies.
What You Can Do
Open your site in an incognito or private browsing window to appear as a new visitor.
Use the Mida preview tool to manually switch between the control and variant.
Add
?mida-refreshto the end of the page URL to clear your current session and be rebucketed into a new variant.Review the experiment results after more visitors have entered the test.
Keep in mind that early traffic can look uneven until the sample size grows enough to reflect the intended 50/50 split.
Quick Reference
Seeing only one version is expected behavior. Persistence prevents you from seeing multiple versions of the same page, which would invalidate the experiment. As more visitors enter the test, the traffic distribution will naturally even out.
